THE NAKNEK DRAINAGE

People travel from around the world, all the way to Bristol Bay Alaska for one thing...and it's not for a gourmet meal. What draws people here is the largest runs of salmon in the world, the giant rainbow trout and char, and the rare and beautiful grayling that inhabit these fertile waters.

The Naknek drainage is an amazing place and has been responsible for some of the largest rainbow trout ever caught. But what makes this place truly special is how centrally located it is to so many prized waters.  One such place is the famous Brooks River and Falls, a must-see attraction, which is why we have included a trip to Brooks in every one of our standard packages. The Brooks River offers world class trout fishing in a small stream setting, and a tremendous sockeye salmon run that feeds an entire ecosystem, including a few dozen of the world’s largest bears. Make sure to bring your camera.

We also have the opportunity to fly to multiple destinations, if so desired.  Partnering with Branch River Air and their meticulously maintained fleet of float planes, we can offer fly out packages to the other famous Bristol Bay destinations like the American, Alagnak, Nushagak, Moraine, Ugashik and Kulik as well as many of the small gems hidden around the more remote sections of southwest Alaska.

But, rest assured that you don't need to leave the Naknek to have an amazing Bristol Bay experience!  The waters of the Naknek welcome all 5 species of pacific salmon, rainbow trout, arctic char, lake trout, grayling, and some monster northern pike!  If you are looking for a great Alaskan adventure, this is certainly a great way to do it!
